Do jokes work through the blogsphere?

Well, we're going to give it a shot. I don't know why, but I just feel like posting this one. Stop me if you've heard this one before.

_____

One day, a husband and wife were arguing about who would be responsible for making the coffee in the mornings. The husband was adamant: "You should be the one making the coffee; you're the woman!" The wife responded: "You're the first one up in the morning; why don't you just make it when you get up?" He replied: "The kitchen is woman's work..." Her retort: "Pfft, the Bible even says the man should make the coffee!"

This he had to see. "Prove it!" he challenged her. She went and retrieved her Bible, flipped back a couple pages, and there in big, bold, black letters - it read...

sometimes vacations ... become something you need a vacation from... careful what you thikn you need :)

Sometimes it's just best to take a vacation at your own house and sleep the whole time.

*shrug* just a thought.

Frank. I hope you're not implying that Joey will need a vacation from Oats and myself...

Man, your foot-in-mouth move reviles that of Jon's. ;)

Teasin'; I love both you and Jon.

And as far you, dear ~ I am STOKED! Nothing like a randomly executed vacation with the three of us amigas (plus some other freaking awesome Minnesota dwellers) to really "do up" a weekend (in a relaxing, yet "crazy-go-nuts" fun, manner).

Are we picking you up Friday morning (with COFFEE)? :)

Jokes? On Blogs? Sheesh. Some of us don't take life as lightly as others. Why not redeem the talk about edifying things instead of wasting time with trivialities? I don't find Jesus to be all fun and games. I'd expect more of Kings kids...

...Or so I've been told time and again by people with righteous pickles up their backsides.

If it weren't for the laughter that I share with brothers and sisters in the Lord, I'd probably die crying because this world is so horrible (and so many people have righteous pickles up their backsides).

"For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief." - Ecclesiastes 1:18.

Not that I'm making a veiled inference that I'm wise. Just saying that I'm learning how true THAT is, and learning more the value of laughter at certain, appropriate times.

After a long week of ministry and study, on a blog with other like minded believers, is definitely an appropriate time.

umm....what about Huey? She has Fridays off, you know...

And Saturday is the Harvest Party (invitation forthcoming from Meg), if Joey likes apple orchards, pumpkin patches and corn mazes... :)

I think I'd have to side with the wife on this one. The husband should make the coffee. After all, everyone knows that women just aren't capable of making a good, strong cup o' joe.

Not that it's a bad thing. I'm just saying, is all.

Righteous pickles up backside. Ha!

Anyway, I do think you're right. I have a friend who alleged that laughter is so much sweeter between believers who can also tremble together at the glory of God.
(Or something to that extent; he worded it so much better than that poor attempt at recounting it...)
So, thanks for laughing with me guys. :)

Joey, love. That sounds quite agreeable. It's on my calendar! ;) And we have each other's numbers...we'll talk.
My people will call your people; we'll do lunch.

You might be right on that one, Lee. My grandpa tells my mom that she makes a cup of hot colored water...

And Huey!! With Fridays off! Woot.

Heidi,
Uhm what time was that harvest part again? Because me and my sis were thinking about going to bethlehem's seminar on Jonathan Edwards at the north campus. Which is Friday night and Sat morning.

Jenn,
Ouch, to think I'd be so cold is cold itself :) Actually, now that you mention it, she might. You and Miss Daaasy are require about three handfuls per each of ya. But I'm sure my sister can handle it :)

Lee, agreed

A good rule of thumb is to hold the coffee pot up to the light. If light is able to pass through the liquid, then it ain't strong enough.

NOTE: You must use a clear, glass pot for this to work. Of course, if you needed that pointed out, then you probably shouldn't be allowed near electrical appliances anyway.

HAHAHA, Lee, you crack me up.

But I thought the test of adequate coffee strength was to throw a horse shoe in the pot...if it doesn't stand on end, it isn't strong enough.

NOTE: Any horse shoe will work for this.

Frank-o,

The party starts at 10:00 at the 501 Building...reason being that the orchard, pumpkin patch and corn maze all close down by dark. But Meg should be sending out the invites soon...I called her today...and it has on there the specific times we'll be at each event. That way if you can't make it to the orchard, per say, you could still hook up with us for the corn maze. Kapish?
